Six Money Saving Tips for your Wedding Stationery
More and more brides are looking into DIY options
lately, and it’s no wonder with the rising cost of planning a wedding. This
great wedding budget infographic displays a breakdown of the average U.S. wedding
expenses
www.thebudgetsavvybride.com/wedding-budget-infographic-from-easyfinance-com
Did you know that the average Seattle-area wedding
costs $30,000? Of that budget, about $1,000 is spent on stationery. At
Noteworthy*Ink I strive to create professionally designed, custom wedding and
event stationery for a variety of price ranges. Here are some tips for keeping
your stationery costs down.
- Inquire about special offers. Noteworthy*Ink offers new, money-saving specials every season for your convenience.
- People often forget to factor in the cost of envelopes and postage when planning their stationery budget. A great alternative is to send Save-the-Date or Reply Card postcards. Each card is designed to meet postal regulations, does not require an envelope, and only needs a $0.32 stamp! Check out a few of my postcard designs here: www.noteworthyink.com/portfolio/standard-wedding-stationery
- Remember, you don’t need to send an invitation set to every person on your guest list. Organize your list into households and send one invitation set to each, it can cut your list in half! But don’t forget to order a bit extra for late additions, lost invites, and keepsakes.
- Unless you are planning a more traditional wedding, an inner envelope isn’t necessary. One addressed outer envelope is more than enough to contain your Invitation, reply card, reply envelope, and any additional insert cards. In the same vein, coordinating envelope liners can add a nice splash of color, although they will drive up the cost of your invitation set.
- Hand-addressing your envelopes can be very time-consuming, but hiring a calligrapher can cost an average of $2-$5 per envelope with a 2-week turnaround. Consider saving yourself time and money by having your addresses digitally printed on your envelopes. Noteworthy*Ink offers this service for only $0.35 per envelope!
- Menu cards are a great addition to any table;
however, you may not need one for every place setting. Consider having one card
per table (try mounting it in a frame for an elegant look), or if you’re
hosting a reception with a buffet, you may only want one menu for the buffet
table.
